This petition has been set up due to the overwhelming evidence that the animals used in Circuses are not kept in adequate surroundings and are treated badly through brutal training techniques when they should be enjoying their life in the wild.
We the undersigned call upon the Irish Government to ban the use of live animals in Circuses within the state due to the overwhelming evidence domestically and internationally that the animals' welfares are not looked after sufficiently.
Circus animals are exposed to harsh and cruel training methods which often cause mental and physical injuries to the animals.
