The redevelopment of Clifton Cricket Club’s pavilion is about far more than bricks and mortar—it’s about safeguarding the future of cricket in our community and creating an inclusive space for everyone. After the devastating flood in 2022, the club urgently needs a modern facility to survive and thrive.
Our motivations:
Preserve and grow cricket: Provide a safe, ECB-compliant venue for juniors, women, and senior teams, enabling county-level matches and inspiring the next generation.
Build an inclusive hub: Offer accessible facilities for people of all ages and abilities, including disabled users, parents with young children, and older residents.
Strengthen community ties: Create a flexible space for local events, fitness classes, meetings, and celebrations—bringing people together year-round.
Support wellbeing and active lifestyles: Encourage participation in sport and social activities, tackling isolation and promoting health.
Future-proof the club: Incorporate sustainable energy solutions and climate resilience to ensure long-term viability.
Who it will support:
Local families, schools, and youth groups
Women and girls looking for welcoming cricket opportunities
Community organisations like the WI, RAF Henlow/Chicksands, Bedfordshire Young Farmers and many more.
Residents seeking a space for social, educational, and cultural activities
This project isn’t just about cricket—it’s about creating a vibrant, inclusive centre that benefits Clifton and the wider region for generations to come.
I/We fully endorse, support & recognise the need and value that a new pavilion facility at Clifton Cricket Club would bring to the local community and beyond in terms of wider social impact, as well as facilitating cricket in the local area.
