Street Lights In St Johnsbury

The Town of St Johnsbury needs more street lights along Portland, Main Street, Caledonia, Lafayette, Eastern Avenue, Maple Streets and all interconnecting Roads. These Routes are used daily by students of all ages and especially in the winter months they have no choice but to walk to and from school and town in the dark. Our town has had issues with drugs and crimes, and I am personally aware of girls that get cat called from men in buildings or on the sidewalk. We believe that more lighting would be a deterrent to those that might seek to harm innocent people. Crosswalks should be well painted and identifiable as well as specially lit up. These are all major safety concerns and we do not want to wait for a major crime or accident to occur before taking this seriously in a timely manner. Please support this effort.
