Stop the 5G Tower Installation in Our Neighborhoods

Background Information:

The proposed installation of a 5G cell tower in the Kings Land Country, Marco Polo 1 (55+), and Marco Polo Family neighborhoods has raised serious concerns among residents. This decision was made without proper consultation or approval from our Homeowners Associations (HOAs) and community members. The tower’s planned location, in the heart of residential areas, poses several significant issues:

Health Concerns: Studies have suggested that prolonged exposure to radiation from cell towers may be associated with health risks, including sleep disturbances, headaches, and potentially more severe long-term effects such as cancer. The World Health Organization (WHO) classifies radio-frequency electromagnetic fields as “possibly carcinogenic to humans,” and numerous health organizations recommend minimizing exposure, especially in residential areas where families, children, and seniors live.

Impact on Property Values: Research indicates that the presence of cell towers can negatively affect property values in residential neighborhoods. Homeowners are often reluctant to purchase properties near cell towers due to perceived health risks and aesthetic concerns, potentially leading to decreased home values and difficulty selling homes in the affected areas.

Lack of Community Involvement: The decision to install the 5G tower was made without transparent communication or the involvement of the affected HOAs and residents. The lack of a thorough community consultation process violates the residents’ right to have a say in decisions that impact their neighborhood and quality of life.

Alternative Locations: We are not opposed to technological progress or the deployment of 5G technology. However, we believe that such infrastructure should be placed in non-residential or commercial zones to minimize the impact on the health and well-being of local residents. There are numerous alternative sites outside of residential neighborhoods where this tower can be safely and effectively installed.

Our goal is to protect the health, safety, and property values of our communities by advocating for the relocation of the proposed 5G tower to a more suitable location outside of residential areas.
