WARNING: DISTURBING PICTURES
This is a very disturbing and scary thing happening in the IT city of India, Bangalore. There is a huge stray dog population in India and because of the governments callous attitude, it has been allowed to spiral out of control. This has led to the increase in rabid dog bites, people dying and ill treatment of the animals.
Recently due to the complete ignorance of the city's corporation and the corrupt bodies, illegal meat shops have sprung up, door-to-door garbage collection has stopped and dogs have increased in number. These dogs in packs attack humans in the battle for food as poverty crosses path with these desperate and hungry animals. Two children have been killed by these dogs.
Now the government has resorted to the most inhuman methods of slaughtering these dogs and the pictures here are very DISTURBING. I am trying to organise a petition via email to send back to Bangalore and shame these acts as the citizens themselves are not bothered. If you are interested in signing this petition, please copy the paragraph below and forward to as many people as you know and sign your name at the end. I would really like to make the citizens and the corrupt officials accountable for what they have done.
I don't have financial means but I am hoping this would make a difference. Lets speak for those who can't speak for themselves, and lets speak for these dogs who are going through this cruelty for no fault of theirs.
DEAR SIR/MADAM,
WE THE UNDERSIGNED HAVE COME ACROSS SOME HORRIFIC PICTURES OF TREATMENT METTED OUT TO THE STRAY DOGS IN BANGALORE IN AN ATTEMPT TO CONTROL POPULATION. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. IT IS CRUEL, HORRIFIC, AND INHUMAN. THESE ANIMALS ARE BEING ILL TREATED, MADE TO SUFFER AND SLAUGTHERED FOR NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN.
IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT THERE IS NO GARBAGE FOR THEM TO SCAVENGE, TO STOP ILLEGAL MEAT SHOPS THAT STARTED THIS PROBLEM, AND TO MAKE CITIZENS REALISE THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM AND IT CAN BE HANDLED IN A MORE HUMANE MANNER.
