This petition is to meant to expose the hypocrisy which has become rampant during the Christmas giving season which I also have been guilty of. The hypocrisy is this.
Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ....the only begotten son of God. These are the words of Jesus as written in the American King James Version of the Holy Bible.
" Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was hungered, and you gave me meat: I was thirsty, and you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: Naked and you clothed me: I was sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we you hungered, and fed you? or thirsty, and gave you drink? When saw we you a stranger, and took you in? or naked, and clothed you? Or when saw we you sick, or in prison, and came to you? And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these my brothers, you have done it to me."
This petition seeks to illustrate this point...as the wise men gave their gifts to Jesus and Joseph and Mary at the manger in their poverty, so should we do for the poor of this age to the benefit of our souls, our lives and our countries. Not only is it good but necessary for our deliverance to life everlasting.
We, the undersigned, shall make an effort to remember the poor, the sick, the homeless and the imprisoned at Christmas this year and for each year thereafter by donating a fair portion of our earnings and/or our time during the Christmas season to help them.
We will do this through giving to Christian aid organizations, Christian churches via the internet and/or personally to the poor in our communities expressing our faith and proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ our King and Savior while doing so.
If we and/or our families have been blessed with significant wealth we will encourage them to give to the poor, the sick and imprisoned in the same like manner and we will express to them that our giving is for the salvation of our countries and our souls and for deliverance to eternal life through Jesus Christ our King, Lord and Savior.
We will not be ashamed or afraid to proclaim his name.
This salvation is not only for us and our countries but to those who we give to in Jesus name... our King eternally. In doing this we show our faith in him and restore the holiday of Christmas to honor in his name. Praise be to God in Jesus name forever and ever. Amen.
