Sarcoidosis is an often fatal, multi-system, nondiscriminating disease affecting the body's organs.
There is little known about the disease and its origin. It is considered a rare disease, however, it is not. More research needs to be performed to examine every angle of treatment for those who suffer, so they can live normal lives.
Sarcoidosis is a multi-system, nondiscriminating disease affecting the body's organs. It primarily targets the lungs, lymph nodes, eyes, heart and skin. It is treatable, however incurable.
The most common methods of treatment are corticosteroids and chemotherapy, both having many side effects. It is a very debilitating, agonizing disease, still remaining an "enigma" in the sphere of medicine.
We are requesting that the Empire State Building be lit in purple, throughout the duration of April, Sarcoidosis Awareness Month, to cultivate awareness in hopes for proper evaluation, treatment, and a cure.
