This aims to get 1.000.000 EU citizens to sign a petition to have the EUC - EU Commission - make a Bill that demands for old versions, to be used on new versions, technology from the same company or carrying the same business name.
In expression, most users in the modern day world, have experienced, that things they bought not very long ago, are no longer functioning, either because it is an old version of a renewed item or because it cannot read the Data
PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO YOUR FELLOW FRIENDS AND FAMILY - WE NEED TO GET THE CONSUMERS POWER BACK AGAIN - regarding our right to use our bought products.
Dear EU Commission Members:
We the assigning people, as members of the EU, urge for a Bill made by EUC, that prohibits companies producing soft- or hardware or products that is designed to use either parts, from blocking the use of parts or items bought to be used with an older version, upon revealing a new version, and force the consumer to reinvest in basically the same items.
A few examples on companies descitions, that have blocked the consumers from using, their products, and either trash these or live with not being able to get the latest edition of a somewhat similair product:
Sony - Playstation 3, have been blocked from accepting items and games, bought to be used on a PS2 and other Playstation versions..
Many but not all Nintendo platforms, can play games made for a different Nintendo platform, if you can buy the extras that allows the Nintendo to do so, however it could be better and absolute..
DVD players seems to be unable to play very rescent dvd's, if they are only a few years old..
Many of the early computer software or game versions, are unable for people to play, on a modern computer, again either forcing them to trash their old software versions, or have an old computer alined to be used, with this old version of software or games..
If we look at the kitchen and livingrooms, like TV, oven etc., these may have been bought only a few years back, when they are unable to get spareparts for, when in need for such.. etc..
We urge for the EUC to secure the consumers rights, so that they will not have to buy, basically the same item twice, to have an item that fit an older version of the product and an item to be used with the latest edition.
It should be noticed, that the manufacturers of new products and new designs of basically the same product or type of product, can with only minor problems, adjust their newest created product, to accept items for older versions of the same product, than the manufacturer of an early version of the same product, is able to know how extra items would look in a few years.
So basically it is producers, designers and manufacturers, not the consumers, that is responsible for making sure, that a new version of what is basically the product or type of product, can read the things designed for the allready excisting versions.
