The pro-Zionist lobby and sections of the British media have unleashed an unprecedented attack on Shaykh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, one of the world's leading Muslim thinkers and scholars upon his arrival to the UK.
This deceitful character assassination of a scholar, who tirelessly endeavours to promote dialogue and understanding between Islam and the West, is suspicious and sinister. It appears to be a cynical attempt to hinder the improving relationship and understanding between the British Muslim community and the Government.
The Zionist lobby wants Dr. Qaradawi banned from the UK for no other reason other than the fact that he is a powerful voice against the brutal occupation of Palestine by Israel.
This petition is initiated by Islamic Forum Europe(www.islamicforumeurope.com) and is a message to the UK Government that the Muslim community is a powerful community and will not sit idle as one of the most respected and revered scholar of the Muslim world is vilified.
British Muslims strongly condemn the scaremongering initiated by a small powerful pro-Zionist lobby supported by segments of the media against the visit of Dr.Yusuf Al-Qaradawi. Dr.Al-Qaradawi is one of the most revered Islamic authority and held in high esteem across the world due to his balanced, accommodating & inclusive approach.
Dr.Al-Qaradawi was among the first scholars to condemn the September 11 attacks. He condemns attacks on civilians such as the Bali and Madrid bombings. Dr Al-Qaradawi, the President of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, is on a visit to the UK to convene the Council and to promote community cohesion.
We the undersigned strongly support Dr.Al-Qaradawi's UK visit and commend his call for dialogue & understanding. We also back his condemnation of the pro-Zionist lobby for their contemptuous ploy to tarnish his reputation and for trying to silence criticism of the illegal & barbaric actions of the Israeli government in occupied Palestine.
