Air Pollution: Implement Solid Waste Management Rules in Kapurthala City Punjab

Problem: Toxic smoke from waste dump site causes lungs, throat problems. Near by residents are affected by this toxic smoke and unmanaged,untreated waste.

Solutions and our demands:

We demand that the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 should be implemented strictly as soon as possible.
Plastic should be banned. Dry waste and wet waste should be separated at source.
Compost making process should be adopted for wet waste, so that no harm Greenhouse gases are released into environment.
Sweepers and MC sweepers/ cleaners should get proper safety equipments and timely salary.
Waste should be treated, separated, segregated before going to landfill.
