As the Black Beach, Kiama Playground is close to the water, small children who are prone to run off, run towards the water. There is a serious risk of drowning.
They may climb the wall and into the water or run straight into the water where there isn't any wall. Even the most diligent carers aren't always quick enough to catch them - especially if they are caring for multiple children, are aged or have a disability themselves. A fence around the playground would keep the children safe (and the carers less stressed).
We the undersigned humbly request Kiama Municipal Council to enclose Black Beach, Kiama Playground as a matter of priority due to its proximity to the water causing safety concerns for the children.
