1. LET'S NAME THE NEW TAPPAN ZEE BRIDGE THE FRANKLIN + ELEANOR ROOSEVELT BRIDGE!

Please support A.3098, introduced by NYS Assembly-member Ellen Jaffee (D-Rockland County), to name the new Tappan Zee Bridge the FRANKLIN + ELEANOR ROOSEVELT BRIDGE, because the Roosevelts were Hudson Valley natives who provided the leadership we needed to fight the Great Depression and to win WWII. We also respectfully urge NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, and the NYC Council-members, to rename the Brooklyn Bridge the MARIO CUOMO BROOKLYN BRIDGE because former Gov. Cuomo practiced law for many years in downtown Brooklyn and undoubtedly traversed the Brooklyn Bridge thousands of times (and to authorize construction of billboards and art on the bridge's pedestrian walkway, commemorating Mario Cuomo' career). We oppose naming the new TZ Bridge after former Governor Cuomo.

2. We're for The Franklin + Eleanor Roosevelt Tappan Zee Bridge

Please rename the rebuilt Tappan Zee Bridge the "FRANKLIN + ELEANOR ROOSEVELT TAPPAN ZEE BRIDGE," because Franklin + Eleanor Roosevelt, who lived in and loved the Hudson Valley, were the 2 most important and influential Americans in the 20th Century.

On 8-10-1921 Franklin Delano Roosevelt was suddenly attacked by the polio virus, which paralyzed him from the waist down.

Although he couldn't walk after 8-10-1921, FDR could drive, using hand controls he designed in Warm Springs, GA, where he founded a polio clinic. You can see FDR's hand-controlled 1938 Ford at the FDR Library in Hyde Park, NY.

We conquered the Depression and won WW2 thanks to the inspired -- and inspiring! -- leadership of Franklin + Eleanor Roosevelt.

Because FDR loved driving his hand-controlled cars in the Hudson Valley, and because we are thankful to Franklin + Eleanor Roosevelt for all they did, we respectfully request that the rebuilt Tappan Zee Bridge be named the
'FRANKLIN + ELEANOR ROOSEVELT TAPPAN ZEE BRIDGE."

3. Rename the Tappan Zee Bridge to "Tappan Zee Veterans Memorial Bridge"

We, the residents of New York petition the Rockland County Legislature and the State of New York to name the new Tappan Zee Bridge, The Tappan Zee Veterans Memorial Bridge to honor all Veterans.

4. We The People want the Piermont Channel Dug NOW!

The Original Piermont Channel has filled in over the years blocking access to Piermont and its wonderful restaurants and marinas.

Further, the NEW TAPPAN ZEE BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION AND THE RESULTING SECURITY ZONE, IS RESTRICTING ACCESS TO THE MAIN CHANNEL FROM THE WEST SHORE SOUTH OF THE TAPPAN ZEE BRIDGE.
