1. Searching for Patsi Lynn Taylor on Long Lost Family USA!

Searching for Patricia -Patsi- Lynn Taylor is a Facebook page set up for the purpose of sharing information about a missing person, my sister, Patsi Taylor.

Patsi was in and out of state care for much of her young teenage years and she ultimately ran away from the last facility she was at. The Tulsa Girl's Group Home on Peoria in Tulsa, OK was her last residence.

On August 31, 1981 she left the group home and never returned. For over 35 years our family has searched and sought out answers to try to find the trail that could lead us back to our Patsi, but we have been unsuccessful.

Recently, I was in contact with Long Lost Family USA Casting department and had high hopes of making it to their show and getting some help from even more professionals that have reunited families with similar (and even more difficult) circumstances. In the weeks following the interview with them, the contact was less and less and finally I did receive a letter stating that it looked as though the chances of making it to their show was grim.

I am asking for your help in signing this petition in support of them taking on my sister's case and trying to help us solve this mystery that has pained our family for over 3 decades. Please show your support so that Long Lost Family USA will reconsider their decision on Patsi Lynn Taylor!

2. Investigation of Prosecutorial Misconduct

In the prosecution of Kevin G. Wiggins, on conspiracy and wire fraud charges, it is alleged that United States Attorneys for the Northern District of Georgia conspired with Mr. Wiggins's co-defendant and his co-defendant's attorney to falsify evidence. Such false evidence was presented to the court, along with documents prosecutors submitted to the court containing materially false evidence, and a variety of false statements made by one of the persecutors, which resulted in the sentencing of Mr. Wiggins.

In addition, the prosecutors violated Mr. Wiggins's and his sister's constitutional rights to due process, by deceiving the court into believing that other key participants in the fraud, a loan officer and underwriter, were innocent of the same crimes, and they also misled the court into believing the two closing attorneys in the conspiracy would be charged soon after Mr. Wiggins's sentencing, and to recommend a reduced sentence for his cooperation against the attorneys. It's been over a year and no charges have been filed.

It is also alleged that prosecutors, along with the F.B.I. case agent, prepared a report of Mr. Wiggins's testimony he provided in a debriefing with the government, in which he provided evidence to refute the false claims the appraiser in the case made about Mr. Wiggins's sister. The report was never presented to Mr. Wiggins or his defense attorney, nor the court. Moreover, the evidence disproving the false claims by the appraiser, were deleted from the report, and thereafter the report was provided to Mr. Wiggins's sister and her attorney, which led her to plead guilty under false pretenses, because prosecutors never mentioned the positive testimony her brother provided.

Mr. Wiggins has had a website set up to help bring the outrageous corruption of justice in his and his sister's case to the public's attention, to help prevent it from happening to other citizens of our country.

3. Hands off Cuba, Hands off Assata

Malcolm X Grassroots Movement is an organization comprised of New African/Black people whose mission is to defend the human rights of our people and promote self-determination in our communities. We aim to fulfill our purpose through various programs and initiatives we do in our communities.

It is vital that we come together to support what is just and fair. If we don't stand up in support of one another's struggles, despite of our individual efforts we will not as a community, go far. We encourage you to check out our website to find out more about the work we do.

We are campaigning in support of a sister by the name of Assata Shakur. Assata Shakur was a member of the Black Panther Party who currently has political asylum in Cuba because of her political activity while she was in the United States. Assata Shakur stands as a symbol of freedom for many people in the US and we'd like to ensure that she remains unharmed. We are appealing to the Cuban Government because we know that they have the power to keep Assata safe.

This year marking the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, we'd like to celebrate Cuba's historic achievement while also gaining assurance that Assata will remain unscathed. Please read over our letter and join us in solidarity!

4. Tell the truth about sex and lost babies

Many people have lost babies and never talk about it because of the fear and upset.

Some old people are only able to talk about the baby as they are dying.

Some young people are longing to talk about their experience but people can't hear it and change the subject. Slowly people give up trying to be heard.

6. Change the Incest/Sexual Assault Law II

Incest is sexual activity between close family members who are forbidden by law or custom from marrying. Incest is considered taboo, and forbidden (though not always punished severely) in the majority of current and past cultures. This is and was the case even in cultures that are or were sexually permissive in other ways, such as the French Polynesian Marquesas prior to Western influence, who permitted child sexuality and experimentation, but disallowed incest.

The precise meaning of the word varies widely. Different cultures have differing notions of what behaviors constitute sexual activity, and what familial relationships are considered "close". Some cultures consider only those related by birth, while others include those related by adoption or marriage. Some prohibit sexual relations between people who grew up in the same household, while others prohibit sexual relations between people who grew up in related households.

Incest can occur between same-sex as well as opposite-sex relatives. It can occur between persons of any age.

Incest between close blood-relations is a crime in most jurisdictions even in cases where the sex is consensual, although again the extent of the definition of "close" varies. However, since incest is an interpersonal act that takes place in private, it is a difficult law to enforce. There are wide differences between nations as to how serious the crime of incest is. In some countries, such as Australia, incest is a serious indictable offense, while in others it is a minor crime with much less serious consequences.

7. Start a Big Brothers, Big Sisters Program in Brazil

Similiar to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America a Big Sisters, Big Brothers program in Brazil needs to be started to prevent more children from going to the streets or into premature prostitution.

Also, to enable a closer bond between the huge gap of rich and poor Brazilians.

8. Stop Media Violence

An epidemiological study was conducted by the American Medical Association to finalize whether the media is indeed responsible for societal violence. Research compared the happenings of surrounding nations with television, to that of nations without. All observed areas were both demographically and ethnically identical, having the television alone as a variable. The findings were astounding. Every examined region, in which media had been introduced, had a drastic upswing in the rate of violence with children. Within fifteen years the murder rate had doubled. The span of time can be explained simply in that it was the duration needed for the exposed three to five year olds to reach the 'prime crime age'. One example supporting these findings occurred in a small Canadian town in the year of 1973. At this time the town had just been introduced to media influence. Shortly after, there was an incredible 160 percent increase in aggression among the first and second graders of the area. Yet another example is the outstanding increase in the imprisonment rate, which has quadrupled since 1975, a year in which media violence had become more prevelant.

Presently, in the United States, there are about two million teens who have possession of a deadly weapon, approximately 135,000 carry them to school. Many believe this is due to overexposure to violence in the media. On average, media viewers encounter an act of serious violence such as: rape, kidnapping, murder, or assault once every four minutes. The problem we face is the possibility of when viewing these horrendous acts consistently, youth will be more inclined to mimic these actions publicly. One such example is the infamous movie, Natural Born Killers (a Warner Brother production) that has been found to be responsible for more than a dozen murder cases, such as the following. In the year of 1994, a fourteen-year-old boy, who was accused of decapitating his younger sister, claimed he only had wished to be like the Natural Born Killers. Yet another teen, who had become obsessed with the movie, shaved his head and wore tinted green granny glasses (like Mickey the main character) before murdering his stepmother and half-sister. The American Medical Association has concluded that since television was founded in the 1950's, the media has been a casual factor behind 10,000 homicides, 70,000 rapes, and 700,000 assaults annually. There is no excuse for this individually or nationally, and it must be brought to an end.

As Americans of this proud nation we cannot ignore these issues with a complacent attitude. Rather, we must make it a priority to renew national morality by petitioning the industry itself.

10. Prosecute Police Misconduct

Vancouver, BC: Victim's sister wants an independent investigation into the actions of a Vancouver Police Officer who brutally beat Jeff Berg to death. She also wants a judicial inquiry into the actions of the internal investigators who reviewed the case and found no wrongdoing.

Jeff's family believes this is a case of a Vancouver Police Officer using excessive and deadly force. According to civilian eyewitness reports, he was pistol-whipped while he had his hands on the trunk of a car and feet spread apart. While he lay motionless on the ground after the gun butting, he was kicked several times in the head "soccer-ball" style, as well as kicks to the testicles and torso. His lifeless body was then dragged face down across the pavement, which is further cruel and inhumane treatment. No duty of care was offered to Jeff by any policeman as he lay in a pool of blood, which is captured on video by another eyewitness. He was later revived at the scene by paramedics, but had suffered irreversible brain damage due to delay of resuscitation when the officers failed to administer CPR. Jeff Berg died in hospital October 24, 2000 after being taken off life support.

"The internal investigation by the VPD focused more on providing an alibi for the officer, rather than investigating the homicide objectively," claims the victims sister. As of June 11, 2003, the file is being reviewed by the Police Complaint Commission.
