盡快將新唐人電視臺 (NTDTV) 加入有線電視網 (Add NTDTV to our Local Cable Network)

While many overseas Chinese enjoying their new lives in this land of opportunities, and providing their expertise to their new homeland, they often expressed the desire to watch quality television programs in their own languages and to have programs to be able to help their children to understand both Eastern and Western cultures. With an unprecedented increasing number of Asian-Pacific households, the demand is getting stronger.

New Tang Dynasty TV (NTDTV) is an independent, nonprofit Chinese language TV broadcaster established by overseas Chinese. NTDTV began broadcasting via satellite in North America in Feburary 2002 and extended its 24/7 programming to cover Asia, Europe, and Australia in July 2003. Headquartered in New York City, NTDTV currently has reporters and correspondents in over fifty cities worldwide.

As stated on NTDTV’s website, its mission is to
• Provide viewers with accurate information to enrich their knowledge and lives
• Foster understanding between Chinese and Western societies
• Assist Chinese people outside China to adapt and assimilate to mainstream society
• Contribute to pluralism and free flow of information in the Chinese-language media.

This is great news to the Chinese Community. I hereby file a petition to ask our cable company to work out a deal with NTDTV and bring in NTDTV’s 24/7 free-to-air program to its local viewers.
