As YYC Authority started Parallel Runway Project, they have decided to move the employee parking lot to the new location in winter of 2010/11. The new parking lot is a considerable distance from the terminal, compare with the original employee parking (2007).
There is no shuttle provided to safely transport employees from the employee parking lot to the terminal & back again.
The winter conditions make uneven walking paths and the considerable distance to walk within the parking lot unsafe.
There are already incidents on file where employee have been injured because of these conditions.
We, the undersigned, call on Calgary Airport Authority to provide shuttle bus services to transport employees from the designated employee parking lot to the terminal & back.
Shuttle service should be, regular and in a timely manner, to prevent further workplace injuries for those who work at the Calgary International Airport (YYC).
