Your Royal Highnesses,

We are respectfully writing to you about the recent situation concerning Sheikh Mohammed Al-Amoudi in Saudi Arabia.
As you know, Sheikh Al-Amoudi, through his mother, shares with us the rich heritage of Ethiopia.
We would like to express to you and your government the high esteem in which we hold our brother, the Sheikh.

Your Royal Highnesses,
Our relationship with Saudi Arabia began with Bilal when he became one of the most trusted and loyal companions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Ethiopia was the country chosen by the Prophet when his followers needed protection and freedom from oppression.
For the last 25 years, Sheikh Al-Amoudi has tirelessly worked to cement long and cherished relationship Ethiopia has with Saudi through religion, trade, investment and humanitarian acts.
During these 25 years, Sheikh Al-Amoudi has shown his unflagging confidence in our government and our people by investing in our economy - creating jobs, growing wealth and building our country's infrastructure.
Also during this time, Sheikh Al-Amoudi has shown his compassion by providing funds and he has supported badly affected communities with donations and given generously to the most vulnerable community. Sheikh Al-Amoudi has always been committed to supporting healthcare where he has made major contributions to such projects as AIDS awareness and women’s health as well as to promoting academic research. His charity has had no bounds and his munificence has endeared him to Ethiopians at home and abroad.
Your Royal Highness,
We do not presume to questions the decision made by your government, As Ethiopians, we understand well the imperative to jealousy guard our sovereignty.
We only wish to convey to you and the Saudi people our love, respect and admiration for what Sheikh Al-Amoudi has done for us. As our brother, we stand alongside the Sheikh and offer him our steadfast support in his time of need.
