The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors is considering raising the county sales tax to 8%--its highest ever. Right now, Saratoga businesses enjoy a competitive edge over neighboring counties with higher sales tax rates.
Taking away that advantage will hurt taxpayers and businesses at a time when they can least afford it.
Our town supervisors should be making the same hard choices that our families have. They need to find ways to reduce spending instead of increasing our taxes.
