The veterans of this area are required to travel over great distances for treatment at VA hospitals and clinics out of this area and some veterans are not able to transport themselves due to disability or health related issues.
In order to facilitate the necessary health care needs of the veterans of Montgomery County and surrounding areas the Veterans Assistance Commission of Montgomery County, State of Illinois in regular session held in Hillsboro, Il on April 6, 2009 that the Veterans Administration establish a VA health care clinic at the Hillsboro, IL Hospital.
We, the undersigned, call on the United States Department of Veteran's affairs to establish a VA Health Care Clinic at Hillsboro Area Hospital located in Hillsboro, IL to serve the estimated 60,000 veterans living in Montgomery County and counties adjacent to Montgomery County.
We believe it would be in the best interests of both the VA and the Veterans of our area to establish a CBOC at the Hillsboro area Hospital.
