The Projects and Plans that have been included under the "Transforming Horsham" banner, have potential far reaching implications.
Do we want to see improvements? Yes
Do we need to ensure they are affordable and achievable in reality? Yes
Do we need to ensure Community consultation and engagement with ALL stakeholders, ie all the Communinty? Yes (not just HRCC selected key stakeholders)
The current HRCC Community consultation and engagement process is not working for the Community. Urgent change is needed, that's the aim of this petition.
Please note - the petition says "suspend" until acceptable Community engagement process, this is not about stopping progress and improvements.

We, the undersigned Community members of Horsham and Wimmera Southern Mallee, in the State of Victoria, call on you to SUSPEND all “Transforming Horsham” plans, effective immediately, until an acceptable level of community engagement, inclusion and transparency of processes in these and future plans by the Council, has been resolved.
“Transforming Horsham” plans include the City (CAD) to River Masterplan, Horsham Urban Transport Plan, Open Space Strategy, Horsham South Structure Plan, and relevant works approved in the 2019/2020 HRCC budget.
We have serious concerns about the possible impact of the “Transforming Horsham” potential projects on our city, including, but not limited to;
1. Introducing parallel parking in the CBD and reducing parking in the CBD and River precinct.
2. Closure of McBryde St – and selection of this site for the proposed Sports Stadium
3. Planned removal of Lawn Tennis, Croquet Club, Miniature Railway and others
4. NO estimated costings prior to Community feedback
Final drafts for all the “Transforming Horsham” plans, must be provided to the community for further review and comment, prior to any consideration by Council.
