Earlier this year I did a Freedom of Information Request to my local police force asking them if they have Criminal Records Bureau checks, their reply was no UK police officer has a CRB check. But what i did find out was that Police Services Northern Ireland do".
If CRB disclosures are good enough for the Irish police and public, then they are definitely good enough for our UK police officers!
I would like the UK Minister for police Damian Green to enact legislation to make sure that every person employed at present in the UK police forces has a Criminal Records Bureau check.
Any prospective candidate that wants to be a police officer should also have a CRB. I know the UK police forces have in-house checks, but this is not good enough, just look at the link attached.
