Given the proximity of the General Election, Wokingham Labour has decided to suspend the Twenty's Plenty campaign. It would be unfair to use a cross-community campaign to Wokingham Labour's advantage now Parliament has been dissolved.

Twenty's Plenty
The Wokingham Labour Party is leading a cross-community, non-partisan effort to get Wokingham Borough Council to reduce the speed limit in central Wokingham to 20mph.
A properly enforced 20mph limit on the streets of Wokingham has the potential to reduce death and serious injuries by over 50% and create a road environment that would encourage a significant increase in walking and cycling. The health and environmental benefits would be enormous.

In order to make our streets safer, more attractive and enjoyable places to be: we, the residents of and visitors to Wokingham, call for the implementation of a 20mph speed limit in the Town Square Market Place, Peach Street, Demark Street, Rose Street and Rectory Road.
We also call on the council to improve significantly the experience for pedestrians, motorists, cyclists and other road users and finally address the traffic issue through central Wokingham.
