Traffic Safety Improvements needed for Callison Elementary area, Round Rock, TX

Incidents of near misses of students walking and riding bikes on AW Grimes and Thompson Trail have prompted this petition to increase awareness of a nearby Callison Elementary School located at 1750 Thompson Trail Round Rock, TX 78664.
The City of Round Rock must address the high speeds of cars on AW Grimes especially during the morning Rush Hour. The cars attempting go to the school by turning left onto Thompson Trail from northbound AW Grimes do not have a light/turn signal and must oppose very fast moving traffic. In addition, the pedestrian and motorist traffic in front of the school comes from both north and south of Thompson Trail.
Our suggestions for improvement include: adding a Student Crossing Flashing Signs on AW Grimes to alert drivers of nearby school; to lower the speed limit on AW Grimes from Logan to Gattis School Road; adding a Pedestrian Crossing Flashing sign on AW Grimes to alert drivers; adding an additional crosswalk on Thompson Trail leading to the Callison Elementary main entrance/parking lot; adding a Pedestrian Crossing Flashing sign in front of school close to the car drop-off entrance.
