We are asking for you support to help us develop the vacant land adjoining your neighborhood at 6112 Sawmill Rd.
We would like to develop this land with a Top of the line Climate Controlled Self Storage facility that would have little or no impact on your neighborhood. The site would be closed off at the back parallel to Abbey Church. The back of the site would be landscaped with nice trees and a wooden privacy fence. The only access would be from Sawmill Rd.
The design of this site would keep all traffic and customers inside the property and there would be no access to your neighborhood from the business. In addition self storage brings very little traffic or impact.
The current zoning on the property is commercial and we are asking to downgrade the zoning so we may build a Top of the line Climate Controlled Self Storage facility. If the current zoning is not changed someone could develop the site with several things that would negatively impact your neighborhood such as, fast food restaurants, auto parts stores and extended stay hotels.
We feel this would create a negative impact on your neighborhood in several ways.
• The traffic would flow from Sawmill to Abbey Church and beyond.
• Dumpsters would be visible from your neighborhood.
• This would create a great deal of surface parking.
• Transient patrons of extended stay hotels.
• Delivery trucks entering the property during late hours.
• People could access your neighborhood from the retail business.
This is why we are asking for you help to get this re-zoned so we can develop this land so it will be a winning situation for everyone.
We, the undersigned, being neighbors on Abby Church, Stillmeadow Dr, Charmwood Ct, Kicking Bird, Essington Dr herby approve of the Ellis Company developing the site at 6112 Sawmill Rd. for use as a Self Storage facility.
Self Storage use would cut off access from business to neighborhood only allowing access from Sawmill Rd.also giving a nice look with trees as the backdrop to the neighborhood.
Where as retail use would create car and truck traffic into the neighborhood along with surface parking and visible dumpsters and trash at the back of the site joining the neighborhood and create much more impact.
