Too Much Time for selling Sudafed

This is a plea for support of a considerable reduction in a thirty year sentence that I, Theodorus Roussos,(Ted) received in May of 2005, from Judge Henry Floyd; I had a small wholesale business in South Carolina, and legally bought and sold a quantity of pseudoephedrine, commonly known as Sudafed, to another individual through his company.

Without my knowledge, this individual used the pseudoephedrine to make methamphetamine, commonly referred to as "meth". No evidence was ever presented during the trial to suggest that I ever did anything more than to sell legal non-prescription cold medicine to another person.

At the time a conviction for the sale of a listed prohibited chemical for the purpose of the production of methamphetamine carried a 5 year maximum penality. However, because of the conspiracy charge a "catch all" term, the judge gave me a 30 year sentence.

I had no prior convictions other than traffic violations. Many people have expressed agreement with me that a sentence of 30 years in prison for a non-violent, first time offender is too much time.
