Bedford Public Schools has a solid reputation providing instruction with low class size/teacher ratios and we need to uphold that wonderful reputation.
The school system is one reason our community has grown and happens to be a crucial factor in deciding where to relocate to.
Parents of the current third grade class at Jackman Road Elementary in Temperance, Michigan are disappointed in the decision to eliminate one fourth grade teacher in the 2008-2009 school year.
Our children have already endured a crucial year in their education in overcrowded classes that provided no opportunity for individualized instruction. Presently, the current second grade class has fewer students than the current third grade.
It would greatly benefit our children by providing three fourth grade teachers in the 2008-2009 school year. Putting the same group of children in large classes two years in a row would greatly disservice them.
We, the parents of the current third graders, request that another teacher be added to alleviate this situation.
