The Youth League of Horse Racing South Africa

“THE YOUTH LEAGUE” - We have a vision to be pursued and a mission to be accomplished.

I know that half of you don't want to read this long and boring document. So here is the basics:

- Signing your name here does not bind you to anything later on, it simply to initiate the organization.
- THE YOUTH LEAGUE is intended to benefit you.
- Its an open Chanel of communication from you to the operators of the industry.
- Anyone under the age of 45 is considered “youth.”
- We need your support in order to grow and sustain the industry that employs us. 





This petition serves as a request for your support in forming a league dedicated to the interests of the younger members of the horse racing industry, in South Africa.

Many of us are employed by this industry, our legacies and livelihood depend on the industry’s growth and sustainability. It is imperative that we are proactive in keeping the sport current and thriving.

First and foremost, we have a vested interest in taking care of the young people who are already employed by the industry. The jockeys, trainers, assistant trainers, agents, breeders, journalists, enthusiasts and ambassadors of the commercial aspect of horse racing.
We intend to raise the level of quality, professionalism, facilities and expectations of the field.

We are petitioning for THE YOUTH LEAGUE to be legitimized in the eyes of the operators to introduce more of the South African youth to horse racing, to increase the economic and commercial activity and ultimately support the growth of this trade.

We require written permission from the members of THE YOUTH LEAGUE to appeal to the authorities and operators of the horse racing industry in South Africa, the NHA, and the RA.

We humbly ask for your endorsement and consent to legitimize a confederacy so that we can be heard by the operators as one collective voice.

This is a description of what we, as an organization, would like to achieve and accomplish as we progress as a collective. It is intended to serve as a clear guide for THE YOUTH LEAGUE’S vision.

- We would like to have an open and receptive channel of communication with the authorities and operators.
- We would like to have a seat on the board of the Racing Association.
- We would like both the operators and employees of the industry to have standardized guidelines and to live up to them.
- We would like the more modern suggestions that we have for a very traditional industry to be heard and considered.
- We would like to introduce more of the youth of South Africa to the industry of horse racing
- We would like to encourage new racehorse owners in the industry.
- We would like to be considered in the Rules Committee of the NHA.

We are prepared to meet any requirements that the authorities may have. This will undoubtedly include presenting your written consent as member’s of THE YOUTH LEAGUE, granting us permission to act on your behalf.

We are prepared and willing to take on ambassadorial roles and/or titles for the purpose of THE YOUTH LEAGUE’S company mission.

We understand the importance of having a detailed understanding of the rules of the NHA, and our representatives will be well educated.

The stewardship of THE YOUTH LEAGUE will be represented by two of THE YOUTH LEAGUE’S initiators, who will represent this democratic and diverse organization.
