The Muppets Should Host the 2016 EMMY Awards

The Muppets are a revered and cherished group of talented individuals who have all the necessary skills to host an event like the EMMY Awards. Aside from currently being on ABC with their new hit show, The Muppets, The Muppets hosted their own variety show for 5 years on ABC, appeared in 5 movies on the silver screen, and more TV specials and appearances to count! They've even been entertaining since they were babies! Who has that level of experience? Oh, the Olsen Twins from ABC's Full House fame? Fair point.

There will be plenty of winners that night, but a lot of people who came to win an award will come away empty handed that night. As Kermit the Frog once said, "With good friends, you can't lose." A lotta people will need some good friends that night. Let it be The Muppets!

It is rare to find a host who can create excitement and nostalgia while embodying humor and heart. The Muppets have that in spades! Imagine the show opening with: "It's time to play the music. It's time to light the lights. It's time to meet the Muppets on The EMMY Show tonight." That would bring a smile even to Annalise Keating's face.

There's even a built in musical act with Electric Mayhem, who just may need guidance from Lucius and Cookie Lyon or coaches from The Voice to get to the next level.

Hollywood is so cutthroat that maybe Miss Piggy would need legal assistance and The Grinder's Rob Lowe and Fred Savage could help her. Maybe Benson and Beaker could help out the Myth Busters who are about to end their long-running show.

The EMMY Awards is about celebrating television and touching those emotions that no other medium can reach. For that reason, we (the lovers, the dreamers, and me) need The Muppets to host.

So, let's get things started on the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, Muppetational... This is what we call The EMMY Show!"
