The Medical Roots Project believes in the simple principle of truly universal health care--the only GUARANTEED health care is whatever you can provide for yourself, and everything else is assistance. As such, we commit to empowering individuals and communities to impact their future through emergency medical knowledge and timely delivery of care. Our programs train children, adults, and medical professionals with life-saving techniques and emergency planning that expands our capacity to save the lives of thousands of people and ultimately provides everyone with universal health care.

The Medical Roots Project recognizes that, as individuals, our responsibilities include learning the essential healing knowledge required for our own survival and to do what we can toward the effort; as members of a community, our responsibilities include sharing what we know and being open to the transmission of knowledge as a provider and a recipient.

Furthermore, the Medical Roots Project recognizes that the essential healing knowledge needs to be reinforced and practiced to increase the likelihood of properly applying it when it is needed.
