Nepal continues to face the harmful effects of violence and political instability. Strikes, clashes, and protests disrupt daily life, damage infrastructure, and push the economy backward. Businesses are forced to shut down during periods of unrest, tourism suffers a decline, and transportation blockades paralyze trade. The result is huge financial loss, reduced investor confidence, and uncertainty for ordinary citizens.
The instability is not a thing of the past—it is ongoing. In both this week and last week, several incidents of violence and demonstrations have erupted across different regions of Nepal. These events have led to property damage, transport disruptions, and temporary business closures, directly impacting thousands of families. Daily wage earners have been left without income, students have missed classes, and small business owners are struggling to recover from repeated losses.
International agencies and local economists have long warned that such unrest continues to drain Nepal’s economic potential. Instead of focusing on growth, employment creation, and development, the country is repeatedly forced to divert resources toward managing conflicts and repairing damages.
The evidence is clear: violence and instability bring no benefit. They only create fear, hardship, and massive economic loss. To safeguard livelihoods, protect investments, and ensure Nepal’s long-term progress, urgent action is needed to end the cycle of unrest and replace it with peace, stability, and constructive dialogue.

We, the people of Nepal, stand heartbroken at the violence and instability shaking our beloved nation. Each clash, each protest turned violent, and each act of destruction leaves deep scars — not only on our economy but on our communities, our families, and our hopes for the future.
Violence brings only pain:
A great economic loss – When strikes shut down businesses and blockades paralyze transport, our economy bleeds. Shops close, tourism collapses, investments disappear, and daily wage earners are left without income. Even the gold market reflects this uncertainty and instability.

. Every day of unrest pushes Nepal further away from prosperity.
Loss of human lives – Behind every headline is a grieving family. Sons, daughters, fathers, and mothers are being lost in the streets of our cities. Their dreams are cut short, and their families are left with pain that no economy can measure. No progress, no reform, and no demand is worth the price of human life.
Uncertainty for the future – Violence breeds fear and insecurity. Students miss their education, farmers cannot bring crops to market, and businesses hesitate to invest. Families live in constant worry about tomorrow. This uncertainty robs us all of the peace and stability we deserve.
We call upon the Government of Nepal with one united voice:
Take urgent and decisive measures so that such violence and destruction never happen again. Protect the lives of your citizens, safeguard the economy, and restore faith in peace and dialogue.
Nepal belongs to all of us, and it is our shared responsibility to protect it. Violence cannot and will not be the answer. Together, we demand an end to the cycle of unrest and a new path forward — one of peace, security, and prosperity for every Nepali.
