The United States along with about 150 other countries use torture as a means of interrogation.
Water-boarding is torture in every aspect of the definition. Torture, whether mental or physical has already been proven not to be an effective method of interrogation. Often information is obtained, but only 53% of the time is this information valuable. The other 47% is left mentally and usually physically scarred for no reason. This needs to end.
Torture is against article 5 of the UN Declaration of Human Rights. Pictures from Abu Ghraib have proven the current existence of torture.
The United States government needs to take action against torture and not sit back as innocent human lives are recked.
The law against torture needs to be enforced in a stronger and more effective manner.
