West View Elementary School's (API) Academic Performance Index scores are the highest in this district. West View Elementary has also reliably remained one of two elementary schools NOT in "program improvement" status with the State of California.
The purpose for moving West View Elementary School 1st through 6th grade students to Imperial Beach Elementary School is an effort to shave $300,000 per year from the school district budget.
Other solutions must be explored and deployed to reduce the budget rather than disrupting our children’s education.
We, the undersigned, call on the South Bay Union School District to keep West View Elementary School as-is, a Kindergarten through 6th grade school and explore and deploy other means of trimming the South Bay Union School District budget.
