Gold Coast City Council are considering banning Holiday Homes on the Gold Coast. This will have a devastating effect on a range of businesses. It will cause a huge economic downturn on the Gold Coast. It will cause the loss of thousands of jobs - the flow on effect from loss of tourist $$ will be huge.
Families have indicated that they will NOT return to the Gold Coast if they are forced to stay in high rise apartments. They will simply travel to another destination where they get to choose their preferred type of accommodation. The loss of these tourists will mean a loss of thousands of tourism $'s - it will mean the loss of thousands of Gold Coast jobs - in all industries - the flow on effect will be enormous.
A ban on legal holiday homes will cause a major property devaluation, right around the Gold Coast, if owner's are forced to sell! The Gold Coast is already struggling, financially. Gold Coast City Council should not be considering forcing our tourists to stay in alternate destinations.
HRG GOLD COAST are committed to working with GCCC to help with concerns of neighbouring properties re behavioural issues of a small minority of holiday homes.
We, the undersigned, call on the Gold Coast City Council, to vote NOT to ban Holiday Homes, for stays less than 30 days, on the Gold Coast.
Banning of holiday homes will create a HUGE economic downturn for the Gold Coast Economy caused by the loss of tourism spending. Thousands of jobs will be lost - the flow on effect from loss of tourism $'s will be HUGE.
