For the first time in the McGill Dentistry Program, a visiting student from the dental program at the Université de Montpellier, in France, was accepted into McGill's DMD III Class of 2014.
He then submitted a request to stay for another year to complete his degree in dentistry and to graduate from McGill.
A decision has been made by the Admissions Committee to deny Tanguy's request to stay next year.
We, the members of the McGill Faculty of Dentistry Community, are strongly opposed to the decision taken by the Admissions Committee to reject Tanguy's request to stay and complete his Dental Studies at McGill University. Tanguy is a well-integrated and strong student who has developed a meaningful rapport with patients, students and staff alike.
We, the undersigned, vote to overturn the decision taken by the Admissions Committee and to have Tanguy stay and graduate with the Class of 2014 next year.
