Thank you to all who signed my petition. It is still something I feel is important but this petition has clearly become stagnant so is no longer worth keeping open.
I may return to the subject later on but in the meantime, thanks again for putting your name forward.
This petition has come about due to my involvement in volunteer work and my discovery that volunteer workers do not have the same rights as employed people.
I have contacted many groups, including the TUC, Citizens Advice and some independent solicitors and found that volunteer workers affectively have no way of defending themselves against being bullied of denied rights, for instance.
This petition represents the demands of all signers for the following request; that the UK government and UK working bodies extend the rights of all working people, including the right to appeal against mistreatment and be free from harassment, to all volunteer workers.
The Support Rights for Volunteer Workers petition to UK Government (Work and Pensions), Charity Commission was written by Jonathan Boud and is in the category Employment at GoPetition.
