SUPPORT RESPONSIBLE LAPTOP DISTRIBUTION BY SIKKIM GOVERNMENT

RESPECTED SIR,

We, the educated youths of Sikkim, are very much happy to learn that Hon’ble Sir has taken the decision to distribute LAPTOPs to our school students. Please accept our heartiest CONGRATULATIONS.

As you are aware that this device can be used both for good as well as bad, hence we would like to put up few points for your reference to avoid the BAD –

1. The electronic device “Laptop” must be for educational use only.

2. It must have parental controls to avoid our innocent students from going hayward to the dirty internet sites.

3. Though internet is a must in today’s society a platform in all schools must be designed as such they get access to internet... the ocean of knowledge. Provision to block the access of unwanted sites/network locally, by locally we mean, using some kind of software.....and probably we can ask school administrator to do regular checks of computed hard disks and software installed.

4. A team of experienced hardware and software engineers must be attached to this initiative of the Government so that a thorough check is done prior to distribution.

5. As the supply work is from SIMFED, we don’t think that the federation has sound ENGINEERS to execute the supply; therefore hired engineers must be attached so that your VISION of distribution of genuine LAPTOPS is adhered. Opportunity to local engineers if given would be appreciated a lot.

6. We think our village students are completely innocent to this GIFT from the Government therefore pre-training on the use of this device preceding to distribution would be appreciated.

7. The training work must be shouldered by some NGOs or cooperatives at respective towns, villages.

8. The small accessories like extension cords etc must be the responsibility of the supplier.

9. The supplier must give solid after sale service FOR destination. (any part of Sikkim)

We the educated youths of Sikkim would be indebted if a thought on the above points is done for this noble cause prior to distribution from your side.
