Currently the administration of the healthcare program at Nova Southeastern University doesn't view religious holidays as an excused absence. This states that if a person misses an exam due to a religious observance they will be penalized by only achieving a max score of a 70 on the make up exam.
If they miss a class due to religious observance you can get points deducted from the final grade due to the "unexcused absence" classification. The discrimination for religious belief at our school has quarantined religious life choices equivalent to dishonorable conduct.
Therefore, we hope to get this policy corrected.
We, the undersigned, call on the board of trustees of Nova Southeastern University to recognize religious holiday observances as excused absences.
