Our society has little enough contact with nature. The Committee seem determined to put down a fake grass oval despite a fantastic alternative. The Royal Melbourne Golf Club have offered to lay a high quality, free natural grass oval. Ovals do not cost $40,000 a year to maintain despite the misleading claims by the Committee. Help preserve the last vestige of nature at Black Rock Primary School for future generations of children by signing this petition.
A Yale University study found that fake turf contains heavy metals, over 90 chemicals and 12 known carcinogens.

Pulverised rubber car tyre infill is a material that cannot be legally disposed of in landfills or ocean-dumped because of its toxicity. Why on earth should we let our children play on it?

We the undersigned, call on the Black Rock Primary School Council to reject the proposal to use synthetic turf at the school and accept the Royal Melbourne Golf Club's offer of a free natural grass surface.
