270 Kisco Avenue

Some of you may remember Town and Country, a senior residence, formerly known as the old Swiss Home located on Captain Merritt’s Hill. The facility had been serving the needs of local area senior residents for decades.

Town and Country wanted to expand and modernize its senior facility to provide a better quality of life for seniors with disabilities in Mount Kisco, but the expansion on Captain Merritts Hill was denied by the Village.

Instead, the Village Board decided that the new community could only be built on a piece of Village owned land located at 270 Kisco Avenue next to Mount Kisco BMW.
In exchange for the Village 270 Kisco Avenue property, the agreement required the Town and Country property on Captain Merritt's Hill to be given to the Village. In good faith, the Town and Country Senior Residence was closed, the building was demolished and a $1.5 million deposit payment was made to the Village. After 11 years of environmental and zoning review, on March 13, 2017, the Village Board unanimously voted to approve the completion of sale of 270 Kisco Avenue so construction could begin.

· This project will generate $500,000+ dollars annually in tax revenue.
· This project will create new jobs for the community.
· This project will have no impact on the schools.
· This project will provide more homes for seniors with disabilities.
· The Village will receive $4.1 million dollars at closing.

But the Village Board is now reconsidering their decision which leaves the Village at risk for being sued for $50 million dollars.
