Support Lidl in Blakelands

Lidl submitted a planning application to Milton Keynes Council on 6 February 2019 for a new foodstore to be located on land at Wolverton Road, Blakelands. Once validated, the application will be subject to a 13 week determination period.

The application comprises a submission of a similar application, which was considered by Milton Keynes Council (MKC) during 2018, however the proposed development is now located on the eastern side of the field at Wolverton Road, adjacent to the M1. The previous application, which was sited on the western side of the field adjacent to Alder Court and Sheep Way, was recommended for approval by Officers, however the decision was overturned by members and planning permission refused.

The new proposals have been developed in collaboration with Officers at MKC to ensure that the previous concerns raised are addressed. The new scheme also addresses concerns raised by residents in relation to amenity impact.

We are delighted to be in a position to re-commence consultation with the local community on Lidl’s proposed plans for Blakelands.

Our proposal is to construct a new Lidl foodstore with a gross floorspace of 2,214 sqm, sales floorspace of 1,410 sqm and with 167 free car parking spaces. The store will be built to Lidl’s latest specification which promotes a modern building incorporating high quality materials and energy efficient building management systems.
