The Tri-Cities is one of the top growing cities in America today, and to ensure that our community healthcare needs are met, Kennewick General Hospital obtained a Certificate of Need from the WA State Department of Health to build a new 74-bed hospital in Kennewick at Southridge.
In an effort to revoke the Certificate of Need issued to Kennewick General Hospital, Kadlec Medical Center filed two lawsuits against the WA State Department of Health to sabotage Kennewick General Hospital's plan to build a new hospital. Actions taken by Kadlec Medical Center could impose needless project delays and legal costs. If Kadlec continues to take action against supporting the needs of our community, those efforts could undermine our access to quality care, limit choice, and increase the cost of healthcare.
We need to EMPOWER, rather than limit, an open and accessible marketplace of healthcare choice and opportunity.
We, the undersigned, call on Kadlec Regional Medical Center to withdraw the lawsuits that were filed against the Washington State Department of Health to undermine Kennewick General Hospital's mission to secure healthcare CHOICE, and meet the growing needs of our community. We are appalled by Kadlec's cavalier disregard to support what's in the best interest of our community.
We are repulsed by Kadlec's blatant efforts to prevent Southridge Hospital from being built and impacting the ability for financing. We, the people demand protection of our right to an open and accessible marketplace of healthcare choice and opportunity.
