A group of bloggers known as Bloggers 13 proposed to the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) to deregulate the Internet. Their proposal included a request to to abolish the Class License Scheme (1996) and all other Internet-related regulations. They proposed the Internet Content Consultative Committee (IC3) to act as form of community moderation.
However, their proposal was ignored by MICA.
We feel that this proposal by Bloggers 13 is a valid one, and is worthy of government reconsideration.
We, the undersigned, feel that the suggestions made in the proposal by Bloggers 13 (21 April 2008) are valid and should be implemented. As such, we call upon the Singapore Government to or its careful reconsideration o this proposal by Bloggers 13.
