One baby every hour is born with (NAS) Neo Natal Abstinence Syndrome each year . If the woman delivers one child addicted . Most likely she will again, because of the drug addiction it creates a inability to act responsibly . Unprotected sex and various partners are her way of life . These babies receive medications and sometimes up to six months in the hospital . A mandated tubal ligation will be performed in hope to end NAS and encourage these woman to seek help to end their addiction. At a point where rehabilitation takes place the woman could choose to have this process reversed . Children deserve to be protected . Grandparents deserve to be protected from raising kids they are to old to provide for . Masshealth will pay for delivery's and for the baby's stay in the hospital . State also pays the foster parents and adoptive parents . Im sure that cost exceeds the cost of tubal ligation which masshealth already provides as well .
We , the undersigned call on the people of Massachusetts to help put a end to Neo Natal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) babies born addicted. By tubal ligation of all women who have 1 child born addicted .
