Residents of Bloedhond Street, Garsfontein which directly borders Atterbury Road are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week exposed to very high traffic noise levels due to motorists and motorcycles traveling at dangerously high speed at times.
Those that stay close to the traffic light intersection at Eros road are very much aware that this traffic light is being ignored, especially later at night and early mornings.
Our plea is that an in-depth investigation be done and to implement calming measures on Atterbury Road between Solomon Mahlangu and De Villebois Mareuil intersections.
We fear that this road is a ticking time-bomb waiting for serious accidents to happen.
We, the undersigned taxpayers, request urgent intervention by the City of Tshwane to put appropriate measures in place to reduce the noise level of traffic in Atterbury Road by preventing excessive speeding of traffic between Solomon Mahlangu and De Villebois Mareuil intersections. Decent traffic flow and safety of motorists and residents are the expected traits of a city of excellence.
