As a pitbill owner, I realize the responsibility I have in owning a pitbull. I constantly have to defend the breed to uniformed or misinformed people.
I am tired of being frowned upon for owning a dog that gets a bad rep because some are raised to be aggressive and vicious.
These laws will not solve dog aggression issues, ALL dogs have the ability to be aggressive. Irresponsible owners should be held at fault NOT a whole breed.
We, the tax paying residents of Rhode Island, call upon the Senate to deny the bill passing through of muzzling "bully type" breeds. These muzzle laws, restrictions on ownership, and potential bans are ineffective and impractical.
This is discrimination at its best. To punish an entire breed because of the sins of a few bad owners is morally wrong and equivalent to dog racism. If you would like to save our dogs from forced muzzle laws or potential bans please sign this petition.
Tell your local government that you do not agree with these ineffective and narrow mind laws. Stand up for the rights of dogs everywhere, these animals can not speak for themselves. So will you do it for them?
