Our goal is to stop the hydro dam project at Ulu Geruntum, Gopeng, Perak, Malaysia and create awareness amongst the general public and media about this ‘’secret’’ project which is violating local Orang Asli’s rights.
Developers have started building a hydro dam in Ulu Geruntum, Perak, demolishing ancestral graves and jungle indiscriminately. This will not only affect river activities such as white water rafting on Sg Kampar which attract tourists and provide livelihood for many others but will also further encroach on Orang Asli livelihood and rights.
On 13 Feb, 200 people from 6 orang asli villages and 3 adventure companies organized a peaceful protest.

We, the people involved in Free River Campaign call on people who agree with the statement that the Ulu Geranium dam project should be cancelled by the state government.
