Ensign Group, a subsidiary of Martin Grant Homes, are applying to build an ammended 1,250 houses on Buckton Fields, after their previous request for 1,000 was rejected on grounds that the site was green belt land and fell outside of the governments Planning Policy Guidance.
Building this unsustainable development will not only mean the removal of the Farm that supports Smiths Farm Shop and recreational ground which has been open to the public for almost 20 years, but will also cause a strain on the existing, already overstretched community through traffic increase, pollution, flooding, schooling and medical facilities (doctors, dentists and hospitals).
We, the undersigned, call upon the planning authorities at Daventry District Council to reject the proposed planning application for 1,250 homes on Buckton Fields, Northamptonshire, by Martin Grant Homes' subsidiary Ensign Group. (Daventry District Council application No: DA/2007/1400).
We believe this to be an 'unsustainable' development, and certainly not welcomed or needed by the current local population.
