With one or two blows to the head, they crush the skulls, sometimes leaving the young animals in convulsions. The men drag the bodies to waiting fishing vessels or skin them on the spot, leaving a crisscross of bloody trails on the slowly melting ice.
More than 300,000 baby seals off Canada's east coast have been killed for their fur. Thats just the east coast, what happens when all the seals in Canada are being killed. The species becomes extinct and then the people of Canada have to move on to killing another innocent animal just for some expensive coat. The animal may not be able to speak, but it has its rights just like we do and somebody has to defend it so why not us.
So I'm asking you to sign this petition to get these killings to stop. If you care about animals and there rights then you'll do the right thing and sign here.

95% of the seals killed in this hunt are just a days or a few weeks old. 79% of the sealers did not check to see if an animal was dead before skinning it.
In 40% of the kills a sealer had to strike the seal a second time, presumably because it was still conscious after the first blow or shot.
42% of killed seals examined were found to have minimal or no fractures, suggesting a high probability that these seals were conscious when skinned.
