Update as of July 25,2018 : The Playground has been removed and the city will be seeding the area. Please continue to sign and share the petition so that we can show the city and community association that this playground space is important. In talks with the Chaparral Community Association I will put forth a motion in September to start the process of replacing the playground with the unfortunate timeline of 2020-2021.
The City of Calgary is removing the play pieces at 156 chaparral circle se. They are NOT replacing the pieces.
We need this playground. Spending time playing outdoors is essential for our children’s physical and mental well being. This playground is used daily by neighborhood children. What will become of this vacant spot?
Where will our children play when the city rips apart this essential community playground?
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now and NOT remove the playground. We ask that new playground be erected in this space if removed by the city.
