Schools in Renfrewshire, Scotland previous to the 2007/2008 session have had an agreed amount of funding which allows many educational materials to be photocopied/bought.
At the end of the 2006/2007 session Renfrewshire schools were informed they would have enough funding to photocopy/purchase as much of the materials they needed. At the start of the 2007/2008 term the funding was cut massively.
e.g. Johnstone High has a £33,000 reduction in funding.
Now as a result photocopying has been stopped and afterschool activities like Supported Study for 4th year onwards is no longer available.
We, the undersigned, call upon the Scottish Government/Parliament and Renfrewshire Councils to act on their decision to reduce funding in such an important sector and increase schools funding back to the levels previous in the 2006/2007 session.
