STOP Racism & Hate Now

I started this petition to help me cope with the tragedy of Human Rights that my son, who has Asberger's Disorder, a speech deficit/Central Auditory Processing Disorder, and severe anxiety...the abuses he suffered while enrolled at a public middle school.

It was not just his human rights that were violated, but yesterday, today and tomorrow abuses occur against children of special needs. This is not just about children though, as what happened to him is just another symptom of what people all over have done and do to each other due to lack of understanding and hatred.

This problem is about ALL of humanity, and of the HATRED for anyone that has differences. It is not just an issue of children but of ALL HUMAN BEINGS that are violated due to their differences.

Racism is not isolated to races and cultures; it is even among people of the same family, group, race, ethnicity, as again it is because of "differences". It is hate between people that must end. In referring Amnesty International, I believe they stand up for good for all people.

Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights.

AI's vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

In pursuit of this vision, AI's mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights.

AI is independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion. It does not support or oppose any government or political system, nor does it support or oppose the views of the victims whose rights it seeks to protect. It is concerned solely with the impartial protection of human rights. Do I think they can help in this endeavor of all Human Rights, you bet! We have a record of real achievement. We know this because the people we have been trying to help tell us that our pressure has had an effect. Sometimes governments are persuaded to change their laws and practices. Sometimes our solidarity keeps hope alive. Hope is a precious weapon for prisoners battling to survive, relatives trying to obtain justice on behalf of their loved ones or human rights defenders working in dangerous and isolated circumstances.

This petition is a healing process not just for me, but for many I do not even know, and I hope that victims of any abuse, or those who have suffered hate violence, can be helped by this effort of mine.
